Senior Scientist, Protein Engineering

My client seeks a highly motivated Senior Scientist to join their growing protein engineering team.

YOU will focus on engineering DNA/RNA enzymes and binders.

YOU will work with a world class research team.

YOU will make an impact with your expertise in directed evolution techniques and high-throughput screening methods.

Responsibilities

1. Design and execute experimental protein engineering strategies for DNA/RNA enzymes and binders.
2. Develop and optimize high-throughput screening methods for protein variants.
3. Lead directed evolution campaigns to improve enzyme activity and specificity.
4. Design and implement novel selection strategies.
5. Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to advance project goals.
6. Mentor junior scientists in experimental techniques.

Experience

• High-throughput directed evolution workflows and developing novel screening methods.
• Protein engineering and directed evolution methodologies, including automated high-throughput screening.
• Strong hands-on experience developing screening methods for mutant protein libraries.
• Extensive wet-lab experience with DNA/RNA enzyme engineering.
• Mastery of molecular biology techniques and protein characterization methods.

Qualifications

• PhD in Biochemistry, Molecular Biology, Chemical Engineering, or related field and 0-5 years of postdoc experience.
• Strong attention to detail and excellent problem-solving and communication abilities.
• Creative thinking for developing novel experimental approaches.
• Strong organizational and project management skills and stellar publication record.
