Immediate opportunity for Rotating Equipment Specialist to join our global chemical client in Eastern North Carolina area. The ideal candidate will serve as a subject matter expert on rotating equipment, ensuring safety, reliability, and operational efficiency across multiple facilities. This role requires strong decision-making, critical thinking, and communication skills.
Responsibilities:
- Monitor rotating equipment performance, analyze trends, and propose action plans.
- Provide specialized technical support for equipment specification, design, quality assurance, maintenance, troubleshooting, and repair.
- Support outages and turnarounds by reviewing plans and offering expertise in equipment disassembly and repair.
- Collaborate with original equipment manufacturers (OEMs) on equipment design, repairs, and improvements.
- Act as a liaison between facilities and vendors to address common issues and escalate concerns.
- Lead the development of rotating equipment mechanical integrity programs and internal practices.
- Contribute to industry knowledge by participating in professional organizations and sharing best practices.
- Mentor junior engineers, operators, and maintenance technicians on rotating equipment concepts.
- Stay updated on industry trends and seek opportunities to implement new technologies.
Qualifications:
- BS Mechanical Engineering degree with 10+ years of experience reliability/ maintenance of rotating equipment.
- 5+ years of hands-on experience in rotating equipment, including troubleshooting, repair, and equipment selection.
- Knowledge of ASME and API Standards, Process Industry Practices (PIP), and vibration analysis related to rotating equipment.
- Experience in chemicals, refinery, pulp & paper, fertilizer or petrochemical facilities.
- Familiarity with process safety management and quality control programs.
- Ability to work now or in the future without sponsorship.
