Our team is growing and looking for the best Speech Therapist Assistant to care for our wonderful patients.
Speech-language pathology Assistants are support personnel who, following academic coursework, fieldwork, and on-the-job training, perform tasks prescribed, directed, and supervised by ASHA-certified speech-language pathologists. A speech language pathology assistant (SLPA) would assist a speech language pathologist (SLP) in assessing and treating patients with language, speech, fluency and voice disorders or impediments. Assistants aid in patient care and research, implementing speech and language programs planned by the SLP, and compiling data to assess the quality of the program.
Other duties:
- Conduct speech and language screenings, as directed by the supervising Speech Language Pathologist.
- Assist in the implementation of treatment plans for patients with communication and swallowing disorders.
- Track patient progress and report to the supervising Speech Language Pathologist.
- Help patients develop communication and feeding skills through individual and group therapy sessions.
- Prepare therapy materials and equipment.
- Assist in the maintenance and cleaning of therapy equipment and materials.
- Attend meetings and training sessions as required.
- Document patient progress and treatment sessions in accordance with clinical and legal requirements.
- Communicate with patients and their families about treatment plans, progress, and goals.
Qualifications
- Active speech therapy license

- 1 year (professional) speech therapy experience
