Manager New Product Development & Commercialization

We are a frozen appetizer and potato product manufacturer and offer a growing range of side dishes and finger foods, including twice-baked potatoes, potato skins, battered and breaded wedges, fried and filled skins, breakfast bites, potato rollers, mozzarella sticks, and other extruded products.

Summary

·      Responsible for creating and developing new products and changes to existing products.

·      Work with adjacent departments, external suppliers, and customers to develop innovative frozen food products for the Retail and Food Service sales channels.

·      Responsible for the idea, the implementation, the successful market launch, and the technical project support of the development activities.

·      Support sales with product-specific issues.

·      Research and analyze local and global trends to continually optimize the products to stay “on trend” and provide our customers with new and innovative products to grow their business.

·      Responsible for all benchtop and production-scale work, ensuring on-time product launches that meet all quality and cost parameters.

·      Support cost savings and/or continuous improvement projects in the factory.

·      Responsibility for specification writing and regulatory requirements.

·      Manage two direct reports.

·      The manager of NPD (New Product Development) will work closely with the NPD group in Europe.

·      P&L responsibility for the department

Qualifications:

The ideal candidate has...

·      A successful education as a chef, food technologist or equivalent experience.

·      Ideally, several years of professional experience in product development of frozen products, ideally finger food, potatoes, and cheese-based snacks.

·      A customer-focused mindset: the ability to work with customers to understand their needs and create innovative product solutions.

·      Has an independent, structured, and goal-oriented work ethic.

·      Has strong communication skills and collaborative cross-functional experience

·      A proven, hands-on team leader with a creative and innovative approach.

·      Must have successfully led a team in the past.

·      Adept in MS Office programs and project management tools.

·      An economic mindset for development work and someone who can balance market realities with innovation

Travel: Up to 10% of the time both domestically and internationally; Valid driver’s license and passport.

Compensation: Dependant on experience and skill level
