Job Description: As an Emergency Department Physician at Commonwealth Healthcare Corporation, you will be responsible for the timely evaluation, diagnosis, and treatment of patients presenting with a wide range of acute medical conditions and emergencies. You will play a pivotal role in delivering urgent medical care and ensuring the efficient operation of our emergency department.

Key Responsibilities:

Patient Care:

Assess and prioritize patients based on the severity of their condition.

Diagnose and treat acute illnesses, injuries, and medical emergencies.

Perform life-saving procedures, including intubation, chest tube placement, and central line insertion.

Administer appropriate medications and therapies.

Coordinate with specialists and consult as needed.

Triage and Stabilization:

Effectively triage patients to allocate resources and prioritize care.

Stabilize critically ill patients and provide immediate interventions.

Ensure timely initiation of treatment protocols, including advanced cardiac life support (ACLS) and trauma care.

Emergency Team Leadership:

Lead and coordinate the healthcare team, including nurses, technicians, and other medical staff.

Collaborate with other departments and healthcare providers for seamless patient care.

Documentation and Record Keeping:

Maintain accurate and complete medical records for all patients.

Document patient assessments, treatment plans, and interventions.

Emergency Medicine Education:

Provide education and guidance to medical residents, nurses, and other staff.

Stay current with the latest advancements in emergency medicine through ongoing professional development.

Qualifications:

  • Doctor of Medicine (MD) or Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine (DO) degree from an accredited medical school.
  • Residency training in Emergency Medicine.
  • Board certification in Emergency Medicine.
  • State medical licensure to practice as an Emergency Department Physician.
  • Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) and Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) certification.
  • Strong clinical skills and the ability to make rapid, critical decisions.
  • Excellent communication and leadership skills.
  • Commitment to delivering compassionate care in high-pressure situations.
  • Ability to work collaboratively in a fast-paced healthcare team.
