As a Metallurgical Engineer you will focus on being a hands-on castings engineer using your metallurgical skills to create large castings. This role is open due to succession planning. They produce large alloy castings for the aerospace, defense, industrial equipment and other markets. What you will be doing:
- Defining metallurgical requirements for projects to be cast
- Troubleshoot problems with castings
- Provide technical support to both external and internal customers
- Lead or assist with continuous process improvements
What they are looking for:
- BS Metallurgical or Materials Engineering
- 5+ years prior hands-on experience working with casting metallurgy
- Must be a team player who can work with all levels of staff
- Due to the defense work the company does, you must be a U.S. Citizen
- Experience with induction furnace melting, arc melting, AOD refining is very helpful
- The more knowledge you have about the alloys, especially using copper the better
- Six-Sigma / Lean Manufacturing practices is also very helpful
