Profitable, well-established, privately held heavy manufacturer is seeking an Engineering Manager - Electrical to oversee the company's electrical and mechanical engineering team. Daily you will oversee a team of established engineers and will report to the President. You will have the following responsibilities:
- Coach, mentor and develop a group of electrical and mechanical engineers at different levels
- Oversee individual and 8-12 group projects, including monitoring budgets and timelines, related to capital equipment, facilities and continuous improvement
- Partner with the maintenance lead daily on project installs, plant shutdowns, timelines, etc.
- Work with purchasing to complete purchase requisitions for projects
- Assist and lead PLC troubleshooting within the plant, all Allen-Bradley PLCs
- Become the site engineering expert for all electrical problem solving
- Champion strategic engineering planning, including developing long-term CapEx project goals
- Oversee the plant layout and continuously develop improvements to the manufacturing process
- Lead audits related to fire protection
- Be willing to wear multiple hats and be an individual contributor to the engineering team
- Act as the site lead for property casualty and risk assessments, including being the point of contact to the insurance broker
Requirements for the Engineering Manager - Electrical:
1. Bachelor's degree in a technical discipline; Electrical Engineering highly preferred
2. At least 10-15 years of similar electrical engineering experience, with at least two years in a leadership role
5. CapEx project management, including timelines and budgets
7. Ability to read blueprints
Skills that are preferred, BUT NOT required:
1. PLC programming and automation
2. Allen-Bradley PLCs
