Position Summary

The Warehouse Supervisor is responsible for overseeing daily warehouse operations, including shipping, receiving, workforce management, inventory integrity, and compliance functions. This role provides direct supervision to warehouse staff and ensures operational performance meets productivity, accuracy, safety, and regulatory standards.


Primary Responsibilities

Operational Leadership

• Supervise all warehouse processes related to shipping, receiving, product movement, and inventory accuracy.
• Ensure product integrity, order accuracy, and compliance with established KPIs and throughput targets.
• Plan, schedule, and manage labor resources to meet operational demands, including training, certifications, and productivity monitoring.

Team Management

• Motivate and coach employees to maintain productivity, professionalism, and operational excellence.
• Provide ongoing performance coaching, identify development opportunities, and implement corrective actions when needed.

Reporting & Systems

• Generate, review, and maintain operational reports to track objectives, KPIs, workflow efficiency, and labor activity.
• Utilize Microsoft Office applications (Excel, Word, Outlook, PowerPoint) and warehouse management systems (WMS) to support operations.

Security, Safety & Compliance

• Protect physical facility assets by monitoring warehouse systems, visitor access, alarm status, and facility cleanliness.
• Maintain food product integrity—including temperature verification, refrigeration monitoring, damage inspection, and pest control adherence (if applicable).
• Enforce safety protocols including PPE standards, training and certification requirements, OSHA expectations, and compliance with wage/hour laws and applicable regulations.
• Ensure adherence to all local, state, and federal guidelines related to warehouse operations and product handling.

Additional Duties

• Maintain a clean, safe, and organized work environment; this may include cleanup tasks as needed.
• Perform other duties as required to support operational goals.


Qualifications

Required

• English proficiency; bilingual English/Spanish strongly preferred.
• High school diploma or equivalent; college degree preferred.
• 1–3 years of experience in warehouse, food distribution, or related operations (or equivalent education/experience mix).
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications (Excel, Word, Outlook, PowerPoint).
• Ability to operate powered industrial trucks (forklifts) and obtain certification within standard onboarding timelines.
• Ability to meet requirements to train and certify others on powered industrial equipment.
• Experience with warehouse management systems (WMS); proficiency expected within 90 days.


Work Environment

• Primarily indoor warehouse environment with moderate noise levels.
• Exposure to varying temperatures in refrigerated or outdoor areas may occur.
• Flooring may include concrete, vinyl, carpet, asphalt, or cement, depending on work area.


Work Schedule

• Typical schedules are 5x8 or 4x10 shifts; start times may vary.
• Must be available to work overtime, weekends, or holidays as required.
• Must be available to respond to operational emergencies as a designated first responder.


Physical Requirements

• Ability to lift up to 50 lbs occasionally and 20 lbs frequently.
• Frequent standing, walking, reaching, handling, and equipment operation.
• Ability to follow safety protocols, emergency procedures, and operational standards.
• Ability to generate accurate reports and operate warehouse systems and tools effectively.
