Overview: We are seeking a dynamic and experienced Manufacturing Engineer specializing in plastics to join our team. In this role, you will be pivotal in refining and enhancing our manufacturing processes, ensuring the delivery of superior quality plastic products. Your expertise will contribute significantly to the optimization of production efficiency and cost-effectiveness.
Key Responsibilities:
- Design and optimize manufacturing processes such as extrusion, injection molding, assembly, and packaging.
- Perform process validation and verification to maintain high product quality and comply with industry standards.
- Collaborate with product management and design engineers to improve manufacturability of new and existing products.
- Lead continuous improvement initiatives to enhance production efficiency and reduce waste and defects.
- Develop tooling, equipment, and fixtures in collaboration with designers to meet product specifications.
- Create work instructions and oversee training for new equipment operations.
- Establish preventive maintenance schedules for new equipment.
- Implement quality control procedures to ensure consistent product quality and regulatory compliance.
- Work with quality assurance teams to resolve any production-related issues.
- Manage project plans, timelines, and budgets, ensuring timely completion of objectives.
- Conduct failure analysis and root cause investigations for production issues.
Required Skills and Abilities:

- Proven negotiation and presentation abilities.
Education and Experience:
- Associate's degree required; Bachelor's degree in engineering, plastics engineering, or related field preferred.
- Minimum of 3 years of experience in engineering or manufacturing, with a focus on plastics.
- Proficiency in CAD software for tool and fixture design.
- Familiarity with quality control standards (ISO, ASTM, etc.).
- Project management experience is an advantage.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
Physical Requirements: Candidates must be capable of performing tasks that involve standing, walking, handling objects, and using tools. They should be able to lift and move up to 35 pounds independently. Visual acuity to recognize color and depth is necessary.
Work Environment: The role involves working near moving mechanical equipment, with occasional exposure to fumes or airborne particles. A moderate noise level is typical.
