A top-tier corporate legal team is seeking an M&A associate attorney with at least five years of experience in cross-border corporate transactions to join its New York office. This role offers the opportunity to work closely with partners on high-profile international deals, advising global clients on mergers, acquisitions, greenfield investments, and corporate structuring.
Key Responsibilities:
- Work on complex cross-border M&A and corporate transactions, with a particular focus on China-related matters
- Advise clients on greenfield investments, economic development projects, and private equity transactions
- Draft and negotiate transactional documents and manage deal execution
- Oversee due diligence and compliance matters related to international corporate transactions
- Collaborate with multinational corporations and investment entities on market-entry strategies
Qualifications:
- Licensed to practice in New York (or equivalent U.S. jurisdictions)
- 5+ years of experience in corporate M&A, with an emphasis on cross-border transactions and Chinese investment matters
- Background at a large international law firm or top-tier Chinese law firm with an international focus
- Fluent in Mandarin Chinese and English
- Strong drafting, analytical, and project management skills
- Experience working with PRC-based companies and U.S.-China corporate matters
- J.D. or LL.M. from a U.S. law school, with additional experience in PRC law a plus
Compensation & Benefits:
- Salary range for New York applicants: $325,000 - $375,000, based on experience
- Option for a lower billable-hours track with proportional salary adjustment
