Job description:

The Nurse Manager - ICU/Medical/Surgical/Telemetry is responsible for overseeing daily operations, staffing, quality assurance, and patient throughput management across multiple inpatient units, ensuring regulatory compliance and high-quality patient care.

Key Responsibilities
  • Manage and supervise nursing staff in ICU, Medical-Surgical, and Telemetry units.
  • Ensure patient throughput efficiency, maintaining optimal staffing levels and care standards.
  • Develop and implement nursing policies & procedures to align with hospital best practices.
  • Lead quality and performance improvement initiatives, ensuring compliance with hospital, state, and federal regulations.
  • Coordinate patient care with interdisciplinary teams, optimizing safety and workflow processes.
  • Monitor and manage budget, supplies, and resource utilization for assigned units.
  • Facilitate professional development and continuing education for nursing staff.
  • Collaborate with senior leadership and nursing directors to achieve strategic healthcare goals.

Qualifications:

Must-Haves:

  • Active RN License in North Carolina.
  • Associates Degree in Nursing (ADN required, BSN preferred).
  • BLS (Basic Life Support) certification from the American Heart Association within 30 days of hire.

Nice-To-Haves:

  • Bachelors Degree in Nursing (BSN) or actively pursuing one.
  • Previous management experience in ICU, Med-Surg, or Telemetry units.
  • Recent bedside patient care experience to support hands-on leadership.
