Our client seeks an experienced application engineer at their suburban Chicago headquarters to interface with engineering and manufacturing to provide proposals for their engineered-to-order capital equipment to an expanding customer base.

Position Overview

• Review customer specifications and drawings to determine product design requirements.
• Use proprietary material selection tools and company design standards to generate estimates of the product sale price.
• Develop new tools and processes to streamline equipment pricing process.  Improve the equipment pricing process to reduce quotation turn-around time to the sales team.
• Maintain proactive and collaborative communication with the sales and engineering teams to ensure proper information transfer so that equipment meets customer’s technical requirements.
• Communicate with sales staff to support large custom project quotations and create solutions for unique material handling applications.
• Meet urgent organizational needs while maintaining a strategic approach, improving processes, workflow, and data management practices.

Candidate Requirements

• Bachelor of Science Degree in Mechanical Engineering preferred.
• More than 5 years application engineering experience in an engineered-to-order capital equipment manufacturing environment.
• Familiarity with Solidworks CAD software.
• Interest in learning the product line and being part of a growing organization in a fast paced team oriented environment.
