Objective
The Senior Accountant will help ensure all financial transactions are recorded accurately, timely and in compliance with GAAP standards and evaluate/implement internal controls to prevent errors or misstatements in the financials. This role will be responsible for maintaining the entirety of the general ledger and closing the books on a monthly basis.
Essential Responsibilities
- Maintain intricate knowledge of GAAP and demonstrate the ability to successfully operate in accordance with these guidelines
- Manager the month end close process to ensure that financial statements are accurate, complete, timely and in compliance with GAAP requirements
- Lead the revenue recognition process to identify when a job is completed and how much should be recognized by leveraging the CRM and accounting system
- Perform reconciliations on a monthly basis (bank rec, credit card rec, payroll, accrued expenses, prepaid, etc…)
- Analyze financial statements to understand material variances between months, quarters and/or years to identify areas that need to be corrected or drivers behind the variances
- Support the external audit process through gathering necessary account information and documents required by the auditors
- Assist with special projects and administrative tasks as needed including back-up for others on the team
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s Degree in accounting
- 3 – 5 years of relevant experience
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Attention to detail and emphasis on accuracy
- Time management skills along with ability to meet deadlines
- Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint, Word)
- NetSuite or similar accounting software experience preferred
