Renowned for providing counsel to prominent financial services firms, asset managers, and investment funds, this group represents clients from start-ups and boutique operations to some of the largest financial institutions globally. Candidate Profile:
- JD from a top-tier law school with a strong academic record.
- Active Bar Admission in Massachusetts.
- 3-6 years of substantive experience in registered investment companies.
- Familiarity with the Investment Company Act and Investment Advisers Act is necessary.
- Exposure to exchange-traded funds, variable insurance products, business development companies, investment advisers, or commodities is advantageous.
- Preference for candidates with prior experience in a large law firm, in-house, or a regulatory agency.
Key Responsibilities
- Advise clients on complex issues relating to registered investment companies, supporting a diverse client base that includes start-ups, boutique firms, and global financial institutions.
- Provide counsel on regulatory compliance with the Investment Company Act and Investment Advisers Act, and other pertinent regulations.
- Draft, review, and negotiate fund documentation, disclosures, and other relevant materials for mutual funds, exchange-traded funds, and other investment products.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to manage client engagements, contributing legal insight and strategic guidance across a variety of fund structures and transactions.
- Stay abreast of emerging trends in the financial services industry to proactively identify client opportunities and address challenges.
