The Site Director is a pivotal leadership role, reporting directly to the Vice President of Manufacturing. This position is responsible for the safe and compliant execution of the production plan, adhering to the Sales and Operations Planning (S&OP) process and budget guidelines. The Site Director will drive continuous improvement efforts in lean manufacturing, aiming to reduce costs and enhance process efficiencies. Additionally, this role entails maintaining site assets, overseeing capital projects, and managing key processes within Manufacturing, Engineering, and Maintenance.

 

This role is located in South Carolina near Columbia. Relocation is required and will be included in the compensation package. Please note this is a union plant and union experience is required.

 

 

Requirements:

 

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Chemistry or Chemical Engineering.
  • A minimum of 10 years of experience in chemical production.
  • At least 5 years of experience in staff and operations management within a manufacturing environment.
  • Experience working in a Union setting.
  • Proven experience in change management.
  • Strong understanding of lean manufacturing principles and process efficiency improvement.
  • Demonstrated ability to manage complex projects, including capital projects.
  • Excellent leadership and organizational skills with a focus on strategic planning and execution.
  • Comprehensive knowledge of environmental, health, safety, and quality (EHSQ) compliance standards and practices.
 
 

Responsibilities:

 

  • Lead the site’s activities in Production, Manufacturing Services, Engineering, Maintenance, and EHSQ, ensuring alignment with the company’s brand promise and strategic priorities.
  • Adapt the organization’s structure, staffing levels, and qualifications to meet demand, economic, and safety requirements.
  • Oversee the timely and quality-driven manufacturing of required product quantities according to the production schedule.
  • Manage operations within approved financial guidelines, ensuring cost-effectiveness and budget adherence.
  • Drive the effective and efficient maintenance of equipment, ensuring availability and durability.
  • Execute approved capital projects on time and within budget constraints.
  • Ensure timely and accurate availability of manufacturing information to support the effective execution of the S&OP process.
  • Maintain a safe and EHSQ-compliant manufacturing operation, adhering to standards such as Responsible Care and ISO 9001/14001.
