Job Title: Superintendent

Job Summary: The Superintendent is responsible for overseeing and managing all aspects of
heavy construction projects, including but not limited to site preparation, excavation,
infrastructure development, and project completion. This role ensures that construction activities
are completed safely, on time, within budget, and in compliance with all relevant regulations and
standards. This GC is one of the top Industry Leaders in Water and Wastewater Facilities and the name to trust when constructing water and wastewater facilities and utilities in the Midwest. We construct water and wastewater treatment facilities, pump stations, water lines, sanitary and storm sewer lines, and utility infrastructure.

Key Responsibilities:
1. Project Responsibilities:
o Plan, coordinate, and supervise all phases of projects alongside Project
Manager’s authority.
o Work with Project Manager to develop and implement project schedules,
ensuring timely completion of work.
o Monitor project progress, including quality control, safety, and adherence to
specifications.
 
2. Team Leadership:
o Supervise and manage construction personnel, including subcontractors and
laborers.
o Provide clear instructions and support to team members.
o Conduct regular meetings with project teams to discuss progress, issues, and
solutions.
 
3. Safety and Compliance:
o Ensure compliance with all safety regulations, protocols, and best practices.
o Conduct regular site inspections to identify and address potential hazards.
o Maintain accurate and up-to-date safety documentation and reports.
o Conduct weekly Toolbox talks with crew.
o Work with 3rd party safety inspectors regularly.
 
4. Quality Control:
o Monitor and ensure the quality of workmanship and materials.
o Perform regular inspections to verify that work meets or exceeds industry
standards.
o Address and resolve any quality issues or deficiencies.
 
5. Budget and Resources:
o Assist in the development and management of project budgets and financials.
o Monitor and control project costs, ensuring adherence to the budget.
o Manage the procurement and allocation of materials and resources.
 
6. Client and Stakeholder Communication:
o Serve as the secondary point of contact for clients, subcontractors, and
stakeholders.
o Provide regular updates on project status, including progress reports and any
issues.
o Address client concerns and ensure their needs are met throughout the project.
 
7. Documentation and Reporting:
o Maintain accurate and detailed project records, including daily logs, progress
reports, and incident reports.
o Prepare and submit necessary documentation for project compliance and
reporting purposes.
 
8. Problem-Solving:
o Identify and resolve issues that may arise during construction, including technical
problems and scheduling conflicts.
o Develop and implement solutions to ensure project continuity and success.
 
Qualifications:
 Education: High school diploma or equivalent; a degree in construction management,
civil engineering, or a related field is preferred.
 Experience: Minimum of 3 years of experience in water wastewater treatment plants,
including 1 year in a supervisory role.
 Skills: Strong leadership, organizational, and communication skills; proficiency in
construction management software such as Procore and Raken; solid understanding of
construction safety regulations and best practices.
 
Physical Requirements:
 Ability to work in various weather conditions and environments.
 Capability to lift and carry materials and equipment as required.
 Comfortable working on-site for extended periods.
