About the Role: We are seeking a Title Underwriting Counsel with strong commercial real estate knowledge to join a national title insurance company. This role is ideal for someone with the right blend of experience and potential to grow within our title team, working closely with seasoned professionals to support underwriting decisions for Georgia real estate transactions.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide underwriting support and counsel to company personnel and clients related to real estate title insurance commitments and policies.
- Apply underwriting standards and guidelines within delegated authority limits to underwrite title insurance issuance.
- Offer guidance to team members on real estate settlement services.
- Maintain and issue underwriting standards and guidelines in alignment with company protocols.
Qualifications:
- Juris Doctor (JD) degree, with an active Georgia law license in good standing.
- Mid-career level of experience, ideally with several years of title underwriting, including commercial real estate.
- Knowledgeable in real estate law, including federal and Georgia state regulations.
- Strong analytical skills and business acumen.
- Effective communicator with negotiation skills and the ability to convey complex information tactfully.
- Excellent organizational skills, with the ability to prioritize and multitask.
Compensation: The mid-range salary is approximately $152,000, with additional profit-sharing incentives based on experience and qualifications.
