Position: Director of Business Development - Manufacturing
Location: Danville, VA
Medium size business in the Danville area with Manufacturing Solutions is recruiting a dIRECTOR of Business Development to take this diverse business to the next level.
Individual will be responsible for new business development, forecasting, strategic planning, marketing, and industry/partner satisfaction to support near and long-term growth.
The company is looking for a visionary leader with a strong Business Development background in IT, federal contracts, and higher education administration.
RESPONSIBILITIES
- Develop a marketing and sales strategy for providing manufacturing solutions to industry.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with key stakeholders in industry, including government agencies, prime contractors, suppliers, and industry associations.
- Individual will ensure the company has a strategic / tactical plan to pursue new customers, platforms, projects, and programs.
- Identify opportunities and maintain a pipeline of potential business
- Execute on the strategic plan – track and measure activity
- Respond to RFPs in a timely manner
- Track proposal efforts and manage contract review
- Maintain business and government compliance
- Evangelize the company’s capabilities
REQUIREMENTS
- Bachelor’s degree, in a technical discipline or real life experience
- Master’s, in engineering, or MBA. PLUS
- 10 years+ experience in account or program management.
- Defense experience with knowledge of defense acquisition processes, government contracting, and regulatory requirements required.
- Technical experience in the area of manufacturing.
- Proficiency in CRM systems and market research tools.
- High level presentation experience at very senior level audiences.

- Travel: 50%
- Due to contracts with the United States Government, candidates must be either US Citizens or US Permanent Residents.
