A highly respected engineering consultancy (company confidential) is seeking a Civil Engineering Branch Manager to oversee operations, drive business growth, and guide a talented team of engineers and surveyors. Key Responsibilities

Leadership & Team Management

  • Lead and mentor a team of engineers and surveyors
  • Provide technical guidance, training, and professional development
  • Ensure QA/QC procedures are followed and continuously improved

Project Oversight & Technical Expertise

  • Oversee civil engineering design efforts including reports, calculations, construction drawings, and specifications
  • Conduct technical reviews of staff work, reports, correspondence, and deliverables
  • Troubleshoot complex engineering challenges and provide technical recommendations
  • Ensure all projects are delivered on time, within scope, and aligned with budget expectations

Client Management & Business Development

  • Build and maintain strong client relationships
  • Support and develop project proposals, scopes, and budgets
  • Actively pursue business development opportunities with new and existing clients
  • Leverage strong local ties and industry presence to expand the firms reach

Collaboration & Industry Engagement

  • Communicate effectively with clients, agencies, and internal departments
  • Participate in professional and technical organizations to support office visibility
  • Support ongoing improvements to internal tools, standards, and resources to enhance quality and efficiency

Qualifications:

Requirements

  • Bachelors degree in Civil Engineering
  • 10+ years of engineering and management experience
  • NJ Professional Engineer (PE) license required
  • Proven experience in land development and municipal project delivery

Qualified Candidates Will Bring:

  • Strong technical skills, with the ability to clearly articulate engineering concepts
  • Experience preparing plans, specifications, cost estimates, and construction-phase engineering support
  • Proven ability to solve complex engineering problems
  • Demonstrated leadership, staff management, and mentoring capabilities
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Experience developing detailed reports and client proposals
  • Proficiency in standard software applications (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint, etc.)
  • Strong regional client relationships and the ability to generate new business
